With over 15 years of teaching and performance experience, Mahtab Haghighi is a passionate and dedicated music educator specializing in voice, musical theatre, piano, and vocal performance. Based in North Vancouver, Canada, she is known for creating supportive, engaging, and personalized learning experiences that help students build confidence, creativity, strong musical foundations, and artistic expression in an inspiring environment.
Mahtab’s background in opera and stage performance brings a unique depth and professional perspective to her teaching, allowing students to explore vocal technique, musical interpretation, stage presence, storytelling, and performance confidence through both classical and contemporary approaches. Her lessons are tailored to students of different ages, experience levels, and artistic goals, whether they are beginners discovering music for the first time, students preparing for performances and auditions, or individuals pursuing advanced musical and theatrical development.
At Cadenza Music & Art Academy, Mahtab teaches voice lessons, singing classes, musical theatre training, and piano instruction for children, teens, and adults. Students may explore breathing techniques, vocal development, ear training, diction, performance preparation, acting through song, musical interpretation, and collaborative ensemble work while developing creativity, confidence, and artistic versatility.
Mahtab also plays a leading role in Cadenza’s musical theatre productions and performing arts programs. She starred as Maria and served as Director and Choreographer for the first-ever licensed Farsi adaptation of The Sound of Music presented under Concord Theatricals licensing. In addition to leading Cadenza’s full-scale musical theatre productions, she directs and mentors students in junior musical theatre programs and productions including Dare to Dream licensed by Music Theatre International (MTI), Pure Imagination for Cadenza’s Summer Musical Theatre Intensive, and upcoming productions such as Aladdin.
Her expertise in musical theatre, live performance, and stage production allows students to gain valuable real-world experience through recitals, showcases, productions, rehearsals, and community performances throughout the year. Through her thoughtful and inspiring teaching approach, Mahtab helps students strengthen not only their technical and artistic abilities, but also their confidence, creativity, collaboration skills, and lifelong appreciation for music, theatre, and performing arts.
